The day's summary

My design analysis on Jmag failed to run. Contains some inexplicable error, which I still can't figure yet....aihh. Then at about lunch time, I went for lunch..did not! Ooh, naughty me didn't just disappear from the lab the whole afternoon for no reason. Let's see, what was I doing from 12.15-4pm..lol. I went for this 1-off test dummies job, which was supposedly from 12.30-1.30, but the stupiak equipments set up wasn't ready, and it got delayed for abt 1 full hour! So cat, matt and I waited till about 2pm. The actual testing(some audio experiment they are running) didn't take more than 10mins, and all we did(were we actually doing anything?) was sit there, with earplugs on, while they run some sound test(play loud noise). They just needed real people to sit in the room to see how humans affect the audio wavelengths and frequencies(that was what we concluded). Well, the highlight is, we got paid $40 each for that. Supposedly $30, but an extra $10 for the stupiak waiting...And that covered the two tops I bought from JustJeans..heehe.

All the waiting made me hungry, so went to grab makan! Just a simple quick sth from a taiwanese bubble tea shop, and we were off on a hunt for white/red polo + ripen bananas. Cutting the story short, cat got her bananas, and an extra haul in the form of a white dress, while matt and i got nufink! Lol!

Went for 'Enchanted' in the evening, with another bunch of ppl. Had some good laughs, esp the part when they start singing and dancing in the park,with all the random ppl joining in... it's so Bollywood or Hindi or watever, you know, those kinda singing+dancing element! Lol...joker lar..

Didn't quite manage to finish my Christmas shopping lar.. need to set a time to go again. I never thought I'll find myself doing Christmas shopping. But, it's a time of giving and blessing after all.. keeping all of God's provisions to myself is simply not fair..

Disgusted

It's crappy how a lovely day had to end with something annoying. Wont go into details, but it's disappointing that when you expect grown-ups to take things more rationally, they fail you... Well, after all, each homo sapien is fearfully and wonderfully created, that's why not everyone falls into the same standard. O God, I need more (mercy+grace) x100000...Amen!

The one-offs craze..

Been obsessed with SJS-one off jobs...such a good way to kill time, and earn extra bucks of coz. God has been really good to me! Very blessed indeed... I've got this sorta one off job, for the coming summer school period. Lecture theatre monitoring...lol! What's that? Basically, you go around checking the lecture theatres you are assigned to, change the radio microphone batts, replace used chalks,check lighting and audio stuff. 7-8am weekdays. $16/hr..good money, and good incentive to start the day early, and get more work accomplished, maybe? The 2 hours training this morning was paid as well. nyeknyeknyek~~ Well, that also meant, I cheated my research supervisor of 2 hours with that. LOL.. Not to mention, got a few other one offs, like the function helper job-3hrs, the coming 'test dummies'-1hr, and many many more to come..OO$$$hh. Quite fun, quite fun..heehehe

STUPIAK?!?

URGghhh.... how the HECK do you dry a patch of wet stuck-on-the-floor-carpet?? Flippin annoyed... GG!! Any smart guess as to how that happened? Hint: Nobody spilled anything..it happened in the middle of the night. I would have been very disgusted and disappointed with you if you ever thought that the answer is my pee... *shakes head**rolls eyes*. NO, it's not my pee! Not to extend of overflowing onto my floor at least! LOL!! It's my water tumbler lar, the one which i place in my room, beside my bed. A chunk of my duvet must have partly draped over the side of the bed, knocking the water bottle over, with me still in the far-far-away-la-la-land. Got up this morning, wondering why both the carpet and the beanbag are damp. Smart me thought that the rain came so far in thru the partly opened sliding door leading to the balcony. That was until I saw the empty bottle on the floor. Shucks man, at least 800ml of water! It would probably take a few days for it to dry properly..till then i shall have to risk harvesting more bugs/insects..

Oh, i specially want to mention, prior to that, a friend spilled crumbs of wafers onto my carpet as well!! -__- and he has the cheek to say that it could happened to anyone else (coz some other friends were around too) -_____- SMORE, that friend was so particular about us not dropping a microb of food onto his house carpet. tsk tsk tsk

The super oily Sichuan food

URRHhhhhhh...... can you imagine pieces of vegie n meat literally swimming in oil? Red/yellow oil...urrghhh. My supervisor shouted the whole team dinner, apparently to celebrate one of his PHD student passing his exams/oral interview. Two other working engineers were there. They were part of the clients' team. One was Eygptian(he's hot!), the other was an Indian(not too bad, just a little chubby). So yea, the two engineers were shown what one other phd student was doing. After the 'demo', and when the power supply was turned off, something blew inside the power supply box, tripping off the lab's own power supply. So funny, the whole bunch of electrical engineers, wondering what exactly triggered the 'boom'. Waited for the security guy to come and open the main power switches room, then only we left for dinner. Was originally headed for Rasa Sayang, but when we reached there, we found out the place 'zap lap' dy. Such a shame. We went to the Sichuan restaurant instead. Sichuan food is very well known for its spiciness, which is all good with me =] But, gosh, if you should see the amount of oil every dish contains. I think right, if we collect all the oil on the plates, we can actually fill one 500ml bottle pack. So, girls, pls stay away from Sichuan food!! LOL! More gym sessions for me for the coming weeks...

Harhh: Take 1

Finally, some personal space to simply unload things off the mind, off the heart! Heehe, I wonder how long will this Harhh live...

It's my second summer in Auckland. Currently working at uni, doing a summer studentship under a supposedly senior lecturer, but haven't actually seen my supervisor do much lecturing. Why harhh? Busy with his research maybe. And what have I been doing for the past 3 weeks or so? Nufink much, tried convincing myself to read the thesis books I borrowed, not exactly working. BUT, I did play around with Jmag, the magnetic modelling program which is like the brain behind the whole thing that I'm doing. And I did have some significant work done today! Went thr at 10+, stayed at the lab till 4pm, the longest ever as compared to my usual 'working' time of 11-2. LOL! In fact, I didn't feel like leaving, but had to, coz of other stuff that needed attending to. I'm making improvements guys! Not $40/hr anymore *winkwink* More hours tmr? Bring it on!! Keke...
